Printing

I would like to upload my pre-made pages that I made in another editing program. What's the best way to do this?

All pre-made pages should be created with 3% bleed area all the way around the page, so the print will come out correctly. The page files should be uploaded to the Mixbook Editor as a background, and applied to the page as a background. For more clarification and guidelines, please contact us.

It takes approximately 3-5 business days to process and print your book before shipping. Ship time depends on the shipping method you select. For estimated shipping times see our Shipping page.

I purchased a wedding guest book from you, what kind of pens should I use on the pages?

We recommend using a permanent fine-tip pen that is acid free. You can find these at craft stores or scrapbooking stores. You can also use ultra-fine tipped permanent pens, as those will not smear - but we always recommend using acid free permanent pens on our books.

What kind of paper do you print on and how are the books bound?

We use a silk, semi-gloss 100 lb. paper that is both acid and lignin-free. We use Electroink 4.0 for printing, which is also acid-free. Our softcover books are all perfect bound (with glue) and the hardcover books are saddle-stitched.

What kind of paper do you print cards on?

Our regular cardstock is called Budget Coated and our premium cardstock is called Classic Coated. The printing is the same, but the premium cardstock is thicker and more sturdy. The Budget Coated paper is great for invitations, while the premium silk cardstock would be excellent for special cards. You can mix both types of cardstock in one order.

Our calendars are printed on 100-weight cardstock.

What kind of covers do you have? Do you have dust jackets?

We do not have dust jackets for any of our books - currently we print on heavy glossy cardstock for soft covers, while the hard covers are printed on a glossy laminate cover which is adhered to a hard book case. Each of them are photowrap covers, which means that they wrap around the entire book cover.

How many pages can my Mixbook have?

Due to our binding process, each book must have a minimum of 20 pages. If a book has less than 20 pages, we will add blank pages until the page count has reached minimum amount. This is done to retain the binding's integrity and strength. Currently Mixbooks can have a maximum of 99 pages - though we are working to increase the page limit.
